Owlpane / Solutions / vs. Logz.io

Moving from another tool · built on OpenTelemetry

Owlpane vs. Logz.io: both consolidate tools, different roots.

Logz.io is a mature managed observability platform built around OpenSearch optimization, AI agents (Open 360) and a large integration catalogue. Owlpane is younger, OpenTelemetry-native from the start, with Kubernetes operations and Carbon on the same telemetry and no per-seat fee.

Switching, honestly

What you keep, gain and give up

Keep

Logz.io while you evaluate, or for OpenSearch-specific optimizations and their AI agent roadmap if it already matches your workflow.

Gain

Standard OTLP without an OpenSearch cluster to think about; Kubernetes explorer with actions; Carbon per service; pricing by GB ingested without full-platform user tiers.

Give up

Breadth and maturity: Logz.io has more enterprise history, SIEM-oriented use cases, and a larger marketed AI agent surface (OrionIQ, App 360, Kubernetes 360).

How it works

Three steps

01

Add an exporter

Add one exporter to your OpenTelemetry Collector and your current tool keeps receiving everything it does today.

02

Compare AI workflows

Run the same investigation question in both products.

03

Decide

Keep Logz.io for OpenSearch depth and enterprise procurement track record; choose Owlpane for OTLP-native linking and Carbon.

Questions

Is Owlpane an OpenSearch replacement?
No. We do not expose an OpenSearch API or run your indices. If you need OpenSearch compatibility, Logz.io is the closer fit.
Does Owlpane have Kubernetes 360?
We ship a Kubernetes cluster explorer with pod-level health and trace links, not a separately branded 360 suite.

Where Owlpane is narrower

  • Smaller integration catalogue and less enterprise procurement history.
  • AI is search-driven, not a separately marketed agent platform like Open 360.
